The R2D2 Fish Tank Is a Must-Have Gift
Birthday boys will love the Star Wars R2D2 fish tank
As soon as you see the R2D2 fish tank, you know you'll have to buy it for one of the boys in your life. I've got two that will love it--my husband and my son. While I can't justify buying it for my husband, who is after all, a grown man, the R2D2 fish tank will be a perfect gift for my son's upcoming birthday.
You Can't Go Wrong with Star Wars
From my experience, most boys love Star Wars. The new animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV show has brought out a new generation of fans eager to play with light sabers and fight the forces of the Dark Side. Couple that with a child's desire for a pet, and you've got a much-appreciated birthday present in the R2D2 fish tank. Not only will your son have a cool piece of Star-Wars themed décor for his room, but he'll also have a place to care for a goldfish or two.
The R2D2 aquarium holds 1 3/4 gallons of water housed in a plastic replica of everyone's favorite Star Wars droid, who stands 20 inches tall, so it doesn't take up much space. R2 moves his head and bleeps when you talk, and overhead LED lights turn red, blue and green. Thankfully, all of these features can be turned off after you've all grown tired of the novelty.
R2's dome head hides a pullout feeding try and his famous radar eye is a periscope into the tank, allowing you or your child to watch the fish up close, while they're feeding or just swimming around. I love this feature the most since it speaks to the budding scientist in all children, allowing them to explore another world, small as it may be.
It's important to note that the R2D2 fish tank is a starter tank and is obviously not intended to house many fish. If you're planning to raise fish or buy exotics, this tank is not the one for you. But if you're looking for an amazingly cool, unique gift for your young Star Wars fan, then this R2D2 fish tank is the thing to buy.
