Lego Games Rock
This year, everyone's playing with Lego games
Lego games are on the top of everyone's gift list. If you're familiar with video games, you probably already know that Legos have been a craze for a lot of years. And even if you don't play video games, you probably know about the blocks, if nothing else -- you may even have fond memories of constructing endless towers yourself.
But these days, Lego has expanded far beyond building blocks. There are lots of new Lego board games that bring a new dimension to traditional board game experiences and kids and adults alike find them fun and challenging.
What is a Lego board game?
Lego board games are games like any other. They have characters, objectives, dice, and rules. Where they differ, though, is where Legos excel: because of the Lego nature of the board, it changes every time you use it. You'll never play the same game twice. For example, in the popular Harry Potter Lego game, the objective is pretty straightforward: players race against one another through Hogwarts in an attempt to be the first to turn in their homework. Sounds straightforward enough, maybe even a little dull.
But that's before you add in the Legos. Suddenly the gameboard becomes a fluid, shifting and ever changing magical location. You can position the rooms to thwart your opponents and have magical shifting staircases.
Even the die is Lego, which makes for a very unique experience.
How it works
Lego games present a fun and time consuming adventure for kids of all ages. The gameboard takes about 20 minutes to construct if you follow the instructions. Most people want to do that the first time, but you'll quickly find your kids following their imaginations and building whatever they please -- and the game rules are fluid enough to allow for and even encourage that, too! Each game comes with miniature Lego figures (for example, the Harry Potter game features Harry, Ron, and Hermione, as well as some extras) along with everything you need to play.
What kids think
Virtually every Lego game has a five star rating online. Kids absolutely adore Lego board games, just like they've always loved Lego itself. These games combine the very best of building and gameplay and kids totally love the mix.Even if your kids haven't heard of a Lego board game, they would probably like the idea. And if they're not into Harry Potter, there are pirate and dinosaur games and all sorts of fun stuff for kids to play with.
Get kids a gift you know they'll love. Lego board games are never the same twice. They're heaps of fun, they're educational, and they encourage creativity. In a world of mediocre and pricey gifts, Lego games are the cream of the crop.
