How Charity Can Be a Great Gift

The Gift of Giving

There are those in this world who have much and those who need much. Why, when we need to give to those who already have, don't we give to those who need in their honor? What exactly am I talking about?

I'm not rich by any means, but I believe in charity. I take very seriously the belief that you should give someone the shirt off your back if they need it. That's why when a friend of mine recently made a donation to a charity in my name, it was the best gift of all.

So Much Need

We are surrounded by so much need and there are so many charities who could really use our support. Many of them take gift donations and will even give you a card to give to the gift recipient letting them know you made a donation in their honor.

If you can afford it, you might even want to look for "brick" or "bench" opportunities. This is when you donate a certain amount of money to the organization in question and they, in return, put up a brick with the name of your gift recipient or even put up a bench with your gift recipient's name on it. It's a wonderful way to give a unique gift while helping out a worthy cause at the same time.

Contact the charities that interest you and see what type of gift programs they offer. Then, when a gift-giving need arises, you'll know exactly where to go and what to do.
