Giving Vegan Gifts Just Got Easier
Vegan Gifts Galore
If you have a vegan friend or family member, chances are you’re probably always at a loss when the time for giving gifts rolls around. Whether your vegan is a rebellious teenager or an aging former Woodstock attendee, the following guide will help you with buying vegan gifts that are sure to be appreciated.
A Vegan What?
Buying vegan gifts is not as hard as it sounds. A vegan eats no animal products or byproducts -- and that includes eggs, dairy, and gelatin. Many vegans also pass on products made from animals such as many mainstream cosmetics, leather, and wool, so it’s best to avoid these as well.
So what else is left to buy? The answer is a lot!
You Can’t Cook without a Cookbook.
Almost every vegan can benefit from having a new cookbook. Internet searches will turn up dozens of results, and you might need to take a sneak peak at your friend or relative’s bookshelf to determine which ones they already have.
It’s okay to buy vegan cookbooks at second-hand stores and yard sales too because many vegans tend to be passionate about the environment and will love the fact that you “recycled.”
Your Friendly Neighborhood Grocer
A gift card to your vegan’s closest grocery store is a great vegan gift choice as well. Every grocery store has many vegan options including cereal, beans, rice, and produce so a gift card won’t go to waste. Most vegans I know love supporting local businesses, so the neighborhood grocery store is a great choice.
Beauty without Cruelty
Cruelty-free makeup and body care products make great vegan gifts too. Just read labels first. Not only should the products not be tested on animals, but also they should contain no animal ingredients.
With these tips in mind, buying gift for your vegan friends and family members isn't a "hit or miss" ordeal.
