Give the Gift of Lazertag

The Hasbro Lazertag System is a dynamite gift this holiday season

The Lazertag System is one of the hottest gifts for boys of all ages this Christmas. It's lots of fun, satisfies that urge to battle, and gets them moving much more effectively than video games. And at about $60, this type of lazer tag is much more reasonably priced than a couple of trips to your local arena.

What is it?

Hasbro LazerTag is a lot like the original game. The Lazertag System comes with two guns with battery power. Once you turn them on, your game is ready to go. The guns register when someone with another gun 'hits' you.

The best part of the game is the realistic nature of the guns. They come with a recoil feature with every shot, a rumble pack that lets you know when you've been hit, and, coolest of all, a 'force field' that temporarily protects you from an opponent's fire.

What makes it so great?

The Lazertag System really is fun for kids of all ages, even the really big ones. It makes a great family activity - the more the merrier, since it's a lot more fun to play with a big group of people than with just one partner. In fact, Hasbro has spawned a bit of a viral gaming epidemic, and if you search YouTube for videos you'll see exactly how much fun this activity is.

Features

The guns, or taggers, have a range of about 400 feet, which is a good distance for games of lazer tag. You can set your 'lives' to either 10 or 25 (some families let the kids set their lives a bit higher than the adults) at the beginning of the game. There are also settings that allow you to select whether you're playing indoors or outside, which greatly improves the game.

There are many accessories you can pick up for these taggers. You can get a shotgun attachment or green dot sight, both of which easily slide onto your tagger. And considering how popular Lazertag has become, chances are there will be more accessories in the future.

Who Enjoys This?

Honestly, even the most cynical doubter will probably have fun with the Lazertag System. Sure, there are a few downpoints - you'll probably spend a lot on batteries, and the LED lights can be a bit bright for playing at night, not to mention the fact that sunlight reduces the range of your tagger - but generally speaking, this is a great investment.

Hasbro lazer tag is a great activity for family Christmas parties, too - you might not be able to convince Grandma to go to the local lazer tag center, but you just might get her to pick up one of the kids' new toys. No matter who you're shopping for, Lazertag makes a fantastic gift this holiday season.
