Four Fun Gift Ideas for Father's Day
These Father's Day suggestions are reasonably priced, and totally fun
Is it me, or are Father's Day gifts just inherently hard to buy? Sure, you can play it safe and buy your father the same cologne he wears year after year, or your husband another new razor, but that's just boring. You might as well be giving underwear for all the excitement that's sure to generate.
I really put my thinking cap on this year (and also had some friends ask their husbands what was on their gift lists), and came up with a few cool, new gift ideas for dads that they're sure to enjoy. Obviously, you know your dad or husband better than I do, so pick a gift that's sure to please them. I don't mind if you tell them the idea was all yours!
1. Fireman's Hose Nozzle with Pistol Grip
If your father is a fireman for his day job, skip this suggestion. Otherwise, think how much fun pretending to be a fireman each time he has to wash the car, water the plants, or clean the windows will be for him! The nozzle is adjustable to control the water flow, and made of stainless steel protected by heavy-duty rubber. Just a warning - this nozzle makes using the hose so much fun you may see your water bill increasing dramatically.
2. Sliders Grill Basket
Mini burgers, or sliders, are the newest meat craze. They're perfect for adding a little variety into the typical summer BBQ fare. The basket comes with a burger press that makes 2 1/2-inch long sliders, 3/4 inches thick. The grill basket lets you easily flip the meat to cook both sides, without having them fall through the grill grates. Sliders are a great size for kids and for those counting calories.
3. Road Mice
While the Big Three American car companies go through their much-publicized problems, these computer car mice are still a good investment. Your husband will really "cruise" the Internet with a computer mouse that looks like a Dodge Viper, Ford Mustang, or Chrysler PT Cruiser. The cars feature working headlights and great functionality. Why did it take so long for somebody to invent these?
4. Garmin Road Navigator
How about something to use on the actual road? If your dad is anything like mine, stopping at a gas station and asking for directions was a real hassle. He preferred to just keep making left turns until we figured out where we were. Well enter the dawn of modern technology and the portable little Garmin, my dad always gets where he wants to go... and without the extra left turns.
The Garmin is simple to use. You type in the address or landmark you are visiting that day. Press Go, sit back, drive and listen to the lady's soft voice direct you to your destination. Your dad or husband will never stop thanking you for this trusty little gadget!
And there you go - Father's Day gifts totally taken care of (for this year, at least)!
