Find Perfect Housewarming Gifts
If everyone you know seems to be moving up and on, you're probably in the market for great housewarming gifts
Why are housewarming gifts so hard to find? You want to give something nice, something useful, something not horribly expensive but not cheap looking, something suited to the recipient, something they don't already have... Hmm. Come to think of it, maybe it's no wonder we have so much trouble finding great gifts for housewarming.
Hopefully you'll enjoy reading these housewarming gift ideas as much as I enjoyed finding them.
1. Go traditional
You know what? There's nothing wrong with a traditional housewarming gift. A houseplant is always a nice touch, since the recipient almost certainly lost one or two in the move. So is a pretty plaque for the entranceway or a nice doormat. You know your friends and family, so cater to their tastes.
2. Find a theme
I love theme gifts. Why not try housewarming gifts centered around something you know the recipient loves? For example, a pet lover might get a new pet bed, a collar for their animal, a figurine of a cat or dog -- things that make the new home special for Fido, too. Or go with something general like "warm and cozy house" and give a nice throw blanket, bubble bath, coffee or tea, and a great DVD.
3. Be useful
I know, we all want to give the very best housewarming gift. But if you're dealing with someone just trying out their first home, a gift card, a set of pots and pans, or cookware might be just what the doctor ordered. And they'll certainly see more use than Aunt Selma's hand painted abstract art.
4. Give luxury items
If the recipient has everything they need, go big. They might have sheet sets, but do they have super high thread count melt in your sleep bedding? Probably not. Get them something they would never buy for themselves, a luxury item they can't justify purchasing.
Follow these tips and you'll become the queen (or king) of housewarming gifts in no time.
