An iPod Makes an Excellent Gift
If there’s one gift that anyone would love, it’s an iPod. In fact, there’s a multitude of people who have more than one iPod, just for the fun of it. An iPod allows you to take your whole music collection on the go and have access to your favorite songs at just the click of a button. But how do you navigate through the Ipod maze and what are the differences between the different types of iPods?
The Standard iPod
The standard iPod comes in 30GB and 60GB sizes. The 30GB iPod holds about 7,500 songs and the 60GB iPod holds about 15,000. These iPods have enough storage for even the largest of music collections and make fabulous gifts, but are a bit price. The 30GB iPod comes in at $299 and the 60GB at $399.
The iPod Nano
The iPod Nano is similar to the standard iPod, but is smaller and holds fewer songs. Still, with the smallest iPod Nano being a 1GB iPod, it holds 240 songs, which many people find to be more than enough. The 1GB iPod will run you about $149, the 2GB iPod will cost you $199 and the 4GB iPod will cost you $249.
The iPod Shuffle
Now if spending $149 for an iPod Nano is out of the question, you may want to look at the iPod shuffle. The iPod Shuffle comes in 512MB and 1GB sizes ($69 and $99, respectively) and is great for those who are on a tight budget. The only thing it is missing is the LCD screen, so you have to listen to whatever song the iPod is playing without being able to choose it from a list, although you can skip through songs using the buttons.
Refreshed and Refurbished iPods
If you don’t mind purchasing a store return or an iPod that has been refurbished, you can get an iPod for even cheaper than the prices mentioned above. Apple sells refurbished iPods online and the Apple stores sell refreshed Ipods (store returns) at a deep discount. They both come with warranties and even a refreshed or refurbished iPod will make a great gift.
